Easily download 10 cm orthomosaics of the most populous cities refreshed every 90 days

 

Near Space Labs now offers 10 cm resolution orthomosaics through our new XYZ Tile Service. We are offering this method of delivery to further simplify accessing high-quality data of the planet. 

Our orthomosaics are built upon standard Near Space Labs scenes to provide seamless images and are corrected for terrain relief and color balanced. Orthomosaics are ready to use for most applications without the need for any additional processing on the users’ end.

Through Near Space Labs’ Tile Service, imagery located in the most populous cities in the US will be updated every 90 days and will be available for download. We are delivering highly recent data to allow researchers, businesses, and organizations to see changes on the ground at a higher resolution and a higher frequency than what has been historically available. With this new API, customers are able to quickly and reliably access high-quality images of the precise areas they need and more seamlessly integrate the data into their workflows in their own applications, software tools, and maps. General Tile Service Details

Due to the high resolution and wide area coverage, mosaics are typically unwieldy large files that are inconvenient to download and work with. To mitigate this, tile services make it easy for users to query and download dynamic size tiles at different resolutions of the areas that interest them without having to work with massive files. This enables quick programmatic access to both high resolution detail and low resolution overviews as needed. 

Users can plug in coordinates to retrieve tiles of interest from tile services. The basic parameters are:

  • Z indicates the zoom level (to change resolution)
  • X indicates the x-coordinates of the tile 
  • Y indicates the y-coordinate of the tile
